Voxel8's core technology is based on over a decade of research from Harvard Professor Jennifer A. Lewis and her team at Harvard University (formerly at the University of Illinois). The Lewis Group has demonstrated several revolutionary advances in multi-material 3D printing, including conductive inks for printed electronics, lightweight composites, lithium ion micro-batteries, and embedded sensors in stretchable matrices. Their work was highlighted as one of the "top 10 breakthrough technologies" by the MIT Technology Review in 2014.
True innovation happens at the intersection of different disciplines. Voxel8 has assembled a multidisciplinary team to realize our vision of advancing 3D printing towards true integration of form and function.
Launched at CES 2015 and named “one of the 9 best ideas” by Fast Company, and most recently named one of the 50 smartest companies by MIT Technology Review – we are relentlessly developing novel materials, hardware, electronics and software for a fully integrated 3D electronics platform. Imagine the future where you can print complex electromechanical devices such as quadcopters or hearing aids. We’re doing just that, now help us bring it to the masses!
